About NetSense NMS

Built by network operators, for network operators.

NetSense NMS is a cloud-native network monitoring system built specifically for FTTH ISPs. It is developed and operated by Extreme Labs, a networking company founded in 2009 with over 15 years of carrier-grade deployments. NetSense currently monitors more than 4,500 OLTs and 1.4 million customer ONUs for ISPs ranging from regional providers to operators serving millions of subscribers.

Built by Extreme Labs

Extreme Labs is a networking company founded in 2009. We build carrier-grade software for ISPs, internet exchanges, and content delivery networks, with mission-critical deployments around the globe.

NetSense NMS is the youngest member of that portfolio, but it draws on more than 15 years of experience operating real infrastructure for real subscribers. We know what good monitoring looks like because we’ve had to build, run, and trust it ourselves.

Why we built NetSense

Most NMS tools were built for enterprise IT racks: corporate networks, server rooms, and SNMP-friendly hardware. They were never designed for the realities of last-mile fiber: passive optical splitters, multi-vendor OLTs, ONUs sitting on customer walls, and home WiFi routers that need to be managed remotely.

The result is a familiar story for ISPs: a generic NMS that technically works, but takes weeks of templating to onboard a new OLT, drowns NOC engineers in irrelevant alerts, and still misses partial PON failures until the support phone starts ringing.

NetSense exists because we believe FTTH operators deserve better. We took 15+ years of operating experience and built a monitoring platform from the ground up around how ISPs actually work, with vendor-specific OLT integration out of the box, smart alert correlation that cuts noise by ~95%, and TR-069 telemetry from the customer’s WiFi router included in the same pane of glass.

Part of the Extreme Labs family

NetSense is one of several carrier-grade products built by Extreme Labs. Each addresses a different layer of how ISPs and internet infrastructure operators run their networks.

Trusted by leading ISPs

NetSense and Extreme Labs products are deployed at major broadband providers, including:

Excitel Broadband

Multi-million subscriber FTTH ISP. Featured NetSense success story.

Hathway Cable & Datacom

One of India’s largest broadband and cable operators.

Alliance Broadband Services

Major regional broadband ISP.

What we believe

A short list of the principles that shape every NetSense decision, from product roadmap to pricing to how we answer support tickets.

Purpose-built, not repurposed

Generic NMS tools were designed for enterprise IT racks. NetSense was designed from scratch for the realities of fiber access networks: OLTs, PONs, ONUs, and CPEs.

Operator empathy

Every feature is shaped by the people who actually run NOCs and answer 2 AM pages. If it doesn’t reduce a real-world headache, it doesn’t ship.

Vendor-neutral by design

Hardware-agnostic software and open APIs. No lock-in to a single OLT or switch vendor. Mix Huawei, Nokia, Genexis, ZTE, FiberHome. Your call.

Signal over noise

Smart correlation cuts alert volume by ~95%. We’d rather miss a single low-value notification than drown your team in false alarms.

Data-driven decisions

Real-time telemetry and historical analytics let ISPs plan capacity, prove SLAs, and shorten MTTR with evidence, not guesswork.

Transparent and stable

Predictable per-node pricing, no contracts, no surprise add-on fees. Operating critical infrastructure means you should be able to trust your monitoring vendor.
